Global streaming platform Netflix announced that the post-apocalyptic manga “BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-” will have its anime adaptation for this year and will be simultaneously distributed worldwide on Netflix in 2022. LIDENFILMS will be animating the series.

At the same time, the key visual has been released together with the reveal of the cast who will be part of the said upcoming anime.

To commemorate the anime adaptation announcement, a special event will be streaming this February 10, 7:00PM GMT+8 on Netflix Anime YouTube Channel. Four main cast members will be hosting the said event and the staff members will bring more information about the said upcoming anime adaptation.

Bastard!!: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara. The manga was adapted into a six-episode original video animation (OVA) series by AIC, released from 1992 to 1993. The OVA was released in North America by Pioneer in 1998. An original net animation (ONA) adaptation by Liden Films will be released worldwide on Netflix in 2022. Bastard!! is one of Shueisha’s best-selling manga series of all time, with over 30 million copies sold by 2008.
