A representative from SKYcable told us that the action-theme animation channel ‘Toonami’ will set to end its broadcast on March 31, 2018, in some parts of South East Asia including the Philippines.

Due to the cost of running TV broadcast as well as lack of it’s viewership and it’s sponsors, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific announced that the channel will be pulled out at the entire South East Asia region.

Toonami is a television channel that launched in Asia on December 1, 2012. It is operated and distributed in Asia by Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc., a subsidiary of Time Warner.

Toonami is billed as the “ultimate home of the superhero” and “a dedicated destination for action enthusiasts”.

Aside from action-themed western animation, Toonami also aired animes like Dragon Ball Z.

In May 2015, Toonami was launched a weekend anime block called “Anime Siege” where they also aired some of the anime like Dragon Ball Z, BeyRaiderz, and the premiere of the popular anime in Japan which is “Yo-Kai Watch”

In January 2017, the channel also aired the one of the most-popular shounen anime in Japan and also the continuation of the Dragon Ball Series, “Dragon Ball Super”. Which can be consider as first time to air on the entire South East Asia.
